Safety & Logistics Dossier

This page is for travel trade partners, corporate travel managers, and independent travelers who want real operational detail before they book or resell — not just reassurance. Where something is still in progress, we say so directly. Medical preparedness

• Trauma kits: standard equipment on every vehicle in our fleet.
• Clinic partnership: a named partnership with a clinic in Kolwezi and/or Lubumbashi is currently being finalized. We'll publish the details here as soon as it's confirmed — ask us directly for current status before booking if this is important to your itinerary.
• Medical evacuation: a formal medevac / air-ambulance partnership is also being finalized. Until it's in place, we require all guests to carry their own travel medical insurance with evacuation cover, and we can refer you to providers on request.

Transport fleet

• Vehicles: all tours run in 4x4 Toyota Land Cruisers, built for the unpaved provincial roads used on most itineraries.
• Connectivity: every vehicle carries Starlink satellite internet — real, working connectivity and emergency contact capability even in areas with no cellular signal, which covers a meaningful part of most multi-day routes.
• Backup vehicle protocol: if a vehicle breaks down mid-tour, a backup vehicle is dispatched from Kolwezi, and we also arrange local backup on the ground — mainly through our relationships with local community chiefs along the route.

Security & permitting

• Mine-zone photography permits: arranged directly by us, as part of every itinerary that requires them. Guests don't need to handle this themselves.
• Checkpoints & provincial transit clearances: also arranged directly by us in advance, so your itinerary moves through them without surprises.
• Visa facilitation: we facilitate the visa process for guests, including the invitation letter required for the DRC e-Visa application — see the full process on Plan Your Trip.
